L’Empire State Building est resté la plus grande tour de New York jusqu’à la construction du World Trade Center, qui mesurait 531 mètres. Il a été inauguré le 1er mai 1931, il y a 95 ans, et la tour fêtera ses 100 ans en 2031. Sa construction a coûté précisément 40 948 000 $.
Il mesure 443,2 mètres de hauteur. À l’intérieur, on trouve des bureaux, mais principalement des commerces et des activités touristiques, car plus de 4 millions de touristes visitent l’Empire State Building chaque année.
Ce lundi 11 mai, notre classe de 3D est allée au 86ᵉ étage de l’Empire State Building, avec une vue à couper le souffle sur New York City et ses alentours. Nous avons eu l’incroyable chance de monter sur le toit du monde.

The Empire State Building remained the tallest skyscraper in New York City until the World Trade Center, which stood at 531 metres. It opened on 1 May 1931, 95 years ago, and the building will celebrate its 100th anniversary in 2031. The building cost exactly $40,948,000.
It stands 443.2 metres tall. Inside, there are offices, but mainly shops and tourist attractions, as more than 4 million tourists visit the ESB every year.
On Monday 11 May, our Year 13 class went up to the 86th floor of the Empire State Building, where we were treated to a breathtaking view of New York City and the surrounding area. We were incredibly lucky to be able to go to the ‘Roof of the World’.
